From Feb. 24 to March 8, tanks 3 and 4 were operated on the continuous flow plan, with tank 7 as a Settling tank. From March 8 to April 18 all of the tanks were operated on the continuous flow plan. The results were not satisfactory, owing to the poor condition of the air distribution system. Considerable septic sludge was found in the air ducts at the bottom of the tank. The averages for the period April 1 to 15 inclusive, show a use of air at the rate of cu. Ft. Per minute per sq. Ft. Or cu. Ft. Per gallon of sewage, actual flow, with periods of hrs. In the aeration tanks and hrs. In the settling tanks respectively.
