Sheila Barton is an investigative reporter for a big city newspaper. But she doesn't focus on boring stories like robbery, murder, or graft. However, this is not mere morbid fascination with creepy locales or haunted landmarks. It stems from an encounter from her childhood with a mysterious phantasm that everyone she has known doubts really happened.
Rider Hague is an expert in the occult and is a college professor who has spent most of his life researching the root causes of things that go bump in the night. But a chance meeting (or is it?) with a beautiful woman has led him into a world of darkness and evil he never believed existed.
