The amount absorbed by the grapes is regulated by the concentration of the-gas in the atmosphere, and the time of exposure.In commercial practice at the. Present time, the concentration of sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere of the car3 (or' other treating cham ber) is made uniform by rapidly displacing the original air in the car with the sulfur-dioxide - air mixture.
