He was also a member Of the American Medical Association, Of the Philadelphia County Medical Society, Of the American Philosophical Society, Of the Academy Of Natural Sciences, and Of other learned bodies. He was for thirty-eight years a Director Of the Philadelphia Saving Fund, both his father and his grandfather having preceded him in that capacity.Dr. Keating was twice married. His first wife, by whom he had four children who lived to maturity, was the daughter Of the distinguished Dr. René La Roche, whose work on Yellow Fever has taken a classical rank. She died in 1859. The second union, contracted in 1861, was with Eliza, daughter Of John J. Borie, one Of Philadelphia's Old-time merchants. She bore him three children, two Of whom are still living.
