Excerpt from Transactions of the Illinois State Historical Society for the Year 1917: Eighteenth Annual Meeting of the Society, Springfield, Illinois, May 10 11, 1917Sec. 2. There shall be a President and as many Vice Presidents, not less than three, as the Society may determine at the annual meet ings. The board of directors, five of Whom shall constitute a quorum, shall elect its own presiding officer, a Secretary and Treasurer, and shall have power to appoint from time to time such officers, agents and committees as they may deem advisable, and to remove the same at pleasure.Sec. 3.
