Excerpt from Transactions of the New York Academy of Sciences, Vol. 15 President Rees in the chair, ten persons present. The minutes of the last meeting (June 3, 1895) were read and approved. Mr. R. E. Dodge, instructor in Geology in the Teachers' College, was nominated for resident membership, and referred to the Council. There being no regular business, the Secretary made an informal report of the recent action by the Council in connection with the proposed reception next Spring, and in regard to the lecture course. The various members of the Academy then gave informal reports upon the meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science at Springfield, Mass., in August, last, and also upon the proceedings of the affiliated scientific societies that met at the same time.
