Excerpt from Twenty-Fourth Annual Report of the Maine Agricultural Experiment Station: Orono, Maine, 1908The agricultural value is distinct from what is termed, com mercial value, or cost in market. 0 This last is determined by market and trade conditions, as cost of production of the crude material, methods of manipulation required, etc. Since there is no strict relation between agricultural and commercial or market value, it may happen that an element in its most avail able form, and under ordinary conditions of high agricultural value, costs less in market than the same element in less avail able forms and of a lower agricultural value.
