When teacher Brenda Finnegan and her animal trainer boyfriend Bob Zebrinski witness a kidnapping, Brenda decides it's time to deal with the violence that has dogged her life. Too late, she realizes that the search for the kidnappers means facing an angry religious cult, helping the little girl left behind by the kidnappers and facing her own neuroses.
