What was said to you? What was done to you in your life that caused you to mute your heart? You were full of promise and destiny, but you have now blocked the road to your heart with toxic emotions of unforgiveness, anger, hatred, and bitterness provoked by hurtful offenses or abuse. I became mentally paralyzed in my state of being while outwardly functioning like a lifeless ventriloquist puppet. It may have appeared to others that I looked alive, sounded alive, and even acted alive, but I was emotionally and spiritually dead. My hopes, dreams, goals, and ambitions were dead, and I could not see a hope or future. The rhythm of my muted heartbeat was palpitating and out of sync due to the hurtful abuse inflicted upon me by my ex-husband and pastor (of twenty years), whom I loved deeply. The arteries of my heart became clogged and suffocated, cutting off my oxygen supply, and it felt as if I had taken one last deep breath without the ability to exhale. Until one day, after a bitter divorce that left me speechless and devastated, I began to find the strength to exhale again and fight! Yes, I had to prayerfully fight to keep from losing the essence of who I once was: a young woman full of love, grace, passion, and integrity, who was happy-go-lucky and carefree. There was nothing to prepare me for what was to come. I was facing issues that would challenge me in every way to hold on and never let go.So I invite you into my journey, as I share with you how my love for God and His guidance through His Word taught me how to unmute my heart. I pray that there is something through my valley experience that will minister new life and restoration to your dead dreams, hopes, and ambitions and cause you to find your voice, identity, and purpose-to live again. I pray that you will open up your heart and allow healing to begin. An unmuted heart is a free heart that no longer has to hold the hurt in.
