Excerpt from Well Won IT was a fine warm morning, and Mrs. Thorpe was a little earlier than usual on the day succeeding that described in the last chapter. A pile of small books were on one side of the table, and at the other stood a severe-looking woman in a prim white cap, a neat print dress, and a large white apron.
