Mob violence turns Laura Sutherlands idyllic life upside down the night before her wedding in 1966. Amid political unrest and brutal murders of innocents in Ethiopia in 1977, friends urge her to leave before the violence gets worse. Laura must choose to risk everything to return to Cincinnati for the sake of an orphan girl or remain in embattled Africa. When a hippie and a computer geek uncover Lauras true identity, someone from her past terrorises her in a game of cat and mouse.
