Excerpt from Whisky Insurrection: A General View By request of the Washington County Historical Society, a sketch of the Whisky Insurrection in Southwestern Pennsylvania, in the last decade of the Eighteenth Century, was prepared, and was read May 4, 1908, at a meeting of that body at Washington, Pa. Subsequently, by invitation, the greater portion of it was given by the writer at a meeting of the Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania, at Pittsburg. From time to time requests have been received for its publication in convenient form, and it is now given to the public in response to these requests.
