Ich wende mich zuerst zu der am besten zu deutenden, der inschrift der spange von Freilaubersheim. Ihr erster teil ist klar und die lesung unbe stritten: boso: wrael man 'boso schrieb die runeninschrift', also der anfang ganz wie bei den oben erwähnten urnordischen inschriften. Der runenritzer nennt zunächst seinen namen mit hinblick auf die ihm innewohnende zauberkraft, die er durch einritzen von runen betätigt.
